Mullion material clear pine screw placement to be 1-1/2" above and below the centerline or boreholes.
#8x3" PFH wood screw pre-drill with 1/8" bit.
A certified Structural Performance Label provides Design Pressure information for the building code inspector. The manufacturer has third party independent certification that proves the designated design pressure the door system performs to.
Reeb Millwork - Qualified Design Pressure Certified Structural Performance Configurations.
Depending on door configurations, DP47 or DP50 structural design certification labels will be applied to door units.
“ We have testing units that duplicate hurricane winds and other conditions. ”
“ The DP rating is a measure of the level of wind force a door system can withstand without failing or cracking. ”
“ Design Pressure is a term used to identify the structural capacity of a door system. ”
Design Pressure is a term used to identify the structural capacity of a door system. Essentially Design Pressure represents the wind load the door system can withstand.
The Building Code requires glazed 'fenestration' to be tested to ASTM E1886⁄1996
Testing fenestration to ASTM E1886/1996 requires the complete door system be tested.
Door configurations are tested to a specified wind load pressure.
Modifications may be needed to components, assembly and installation procedures of the door configuration to achieve the specified DP ratings.
The tested door units with the necessary modification are then documented and are able to be certified to the achieved DP ratings.
If an entire door unit is not tested, technically it does not carry DP rating.
A certified Structural Performance Label provides Design Pressure information for the building code inspector.
The manufacturer has third party independent certification that proves the designated design pressure the door system performs to.
The third party independent certification agency is in possession of the independent test reports support these performance claims.

Design Pressure is a term used to identify the structural capacity of a door system. Essentially Design Pressure represents the wind load the door system can withstand.
An Affidavit Structural Performance Label provides Design Pressure information for the building code inspector.
On an Affidavit Structural Performance Label the manufacturer is affirming or promising that the designated design pressure the door system will perform to.
The manufacturer is always the pre-hanger.
It is assumed that the manufacturer has some evidence to support these performance claims.
No independent testing or certification is necessarily required for the affidavit performance label.
There is no oversight of the performance claims.
Construction difference for structural certification of Therma-Tru opaque and glazed continuous door systems.
Modifications needed to achieve DP certification requires #8 X 2-1/2" PFH wood screw located ½" from top and bottom of door (lock side only) pre-drill with 1/8" bit. This is performed by the pre-hanger during assembly.
