Our History

Back at the turn of the 20th century, a small company was formed by CE Reeb and Dickens. Shortly thereafter, CE Reeb acquired Dickens’ share and purchased property in Roselle Park, NJ. The first warehouse was erected in the early 20’s and within five years underwent 3 additions.

CE Reeb died in 1932 and the daily operation of the business was passed on to his children - Lyle and Hilda. In 1934, Lyle approached Hilda’s husband Ward Malmar and George Kelting, a factory rep to Reeb and offered each a third of the business. A few years later, Ward and George bought out Lyle’s share.

Reeb owned and operated a second facility in Eastport Chester, CT until a fire destroyed the property in the mid 30’s. It was at that time, Reeb relocated to Bethlehem, PA. The company continued its operation until it was sold in 1963 to Whittier Ruhle. In 1979, it was purchased by the Ruhle and Kerr families.

Tom and Jay brought new ideas on how to run a distribution company. Tom used to say “You can’t sell from an empty wagon” and his belief that we needed heavier inventories than our competitors served Reeb well. Tom believed that we could compete with the “big guys” if we always carried enough inventory to ship every order complete. Because of this stance of having strong inventory, it didn’t take long for our reputation to grow among our customers.

Today Reeb Millwork is one of the leading building materials distributors on the east coast. Headquartered in Bethlehem, PA, Reeb has seen the addition of facilities in Syracuse, NY, Seattle, WA, Barclay, MD and Lincoln, RI.

In 2007, Reeb built two new impressive facilities for its Maryland and Rhode Island locations. Each one has 150,000 + sq.ft. under roof and state-of-the-art showrooms that house our striking displays and plays home to our Reeb Millwork Colleges.

Based on customer needs, Reeb has focused on four vital areas of service: furnish top-quality products, maintain impressive levels of inventory, offer professional sales support and develop custom industry-specific training. One of the areas that distinguishes Reeb from other distributors is our commitment to huge inventories. We stock many items that are typically regarded as specialty items and not stocked by other distributors.

Reeb Millwork strives hard to stay aware of emerging trends and market changes. We continue to focus on the developing needs of customers and create a condition that motivates them to think of Reeb first for the products, services, and business solutions they need to grow their business-profitably.
