When Mark Gossage, owner of MaCleod Construction set out to build a new home in an old Portland suburb, his goal was to construct a building that fit the architecture and charm of the surrounding homes and maximized energy-efficiency without sacrifice architectural interest, beauty and livability.

MaCleod Construction chose Integrity Wood-Ultrex® windows because of their ENERGY STAR® performance, durability and warm wood interiors.

Integrity’s Ultrex® pultruded fiberglass material was also a strong selling point. Integrity pioneered the use of pultruded fiberglass in windows and doors, creating an attractive, low-maintenance and highly durable line of products. Ultrex is as strong as steel and eight times stronger than vinyl, outlasting and outperforming virtually all other window or door materials. These characteristics help Integrity products stay square and true, while a patented finishing process makes Ultrex highly resistant to scratching, fading and corrosion. All Integrity windows and doors are backed by a dependable warranty that is transferable from owner to owner.

For all these reasons, Integrity was a clear choice for this project. The Wood-Ultrex windows used throughout the home exceeded MaCleod Construction’s benchmarks for the design and energy-efficiency, while creating a sense of embodied charm that reflected the heart and architecture of the surrounding community. It was the combination of expert craftsmanship and design with the beauty of Integrity windows that led area residents to believe that this was not a new home, but a home that had been there many years.  “People from the neighborhood would walk up to me and say, ‘wow, this is such a great remodel,’” says Mark Gossage.

Integrity’s short lead times and consistent 99% fast, on-time, defect-free and complete delivery was able to easily meet Mark’s tight time line and avoid any project delays. MaCleod Construction was able to close up the envelope on schedule, so the project stayed on-time and on-budget. Mark recalls that it was one of the quickest sales in company history, “The new owners were just driving by while we were working on the project and said ‘that is the house we want!,’” he said.  A short time later they purchased the home well before targeted completion.
